I have to agree with many other critics, this is a great production, with a good atmosphere and Eddie Redmayne plays the Jackal lead, but the female lead just ruins it. It’s a total misunderstanding, an actor who can’t make any facial expressions regardless of the situation goes overboard, perhaps to make up for a lack of understanding or appreciation for the character. The character is obviously supposed to be confident and experienced, but she’s portrayed as a cocky “I know best” woman who, for example, has no sense of evidence as she carries the suitcase through the main office. It’s just so annoying and unbelievable.
