The plot follows Cécile, a young woman who spends her summer in a villa in the south of France with her widowed father Raymond and his newest love, Elsa. It’s a world of ease and languor living in harmony with each other. It’s a beautiful film about relationships, in this case a bit complicated. Very well written, shot and acted. Airy romantic setting on the southern coast of France. Interesting character studies. All the actors do a great job, but Chloe Sévigny takes on the most difficult role and does it brilliantly, walking the line between liking and not, loving and not, caring and not. The plot is fairly simple. There’s a twist to it that’s a bit of a stretch, but it’s still believable, certainly interesting and keeps you interested. Interesting dialogue and an engaging soundtrack.
