Dexter Morgan: I lived in the dark for a long time
His son, David Zayas Jr., fills in for his father in some scenes, as the two look very similar.. Visible throughout the first season, Dexter has a large scar on his left side. Later, in season 2, the scar has moved to his right side, leaving his left side featureless.

Dexter creates a believable and very detailed portrait of, let’s say, a troubled, sociopath
One of the parts of the show that I like the most is the emotions that normal people express, thus forcing Dexter to imitate them. It’s a good laugh when Dexter’s fake emotions become real and he is scared, for example, in his relationship with his "girlfriend" Rita, a mother of two and a victim of her abusive ex-boyfriend. I also liked the role of Jennifer Carpenter as Dexter’s sister Debra, she gives the show a nice touch of color without going into clichés.
A fascinating story, lots of details and one of the best opening sequences ever
