The exploits of various guests and employees of the luxury resort during the week. The show is said to be an anthology-style series with new characters for each season. HBO has already done this before (with universal acclaim) with True Detective (2014).. Shown in Jeremy Vine: Episode #4.175 (2021). Although some moments of the first season were cringe-worthy. This second season is about as masterfully done as anyone could hope for. He starts a little slow in the first episode, but soon finds his feet and impresses again and again, drawing me in as if I’m not very experienced. This is like a review of all the thoughts that ever occurred to me at the resort, many of which I have long since forgotten. It’s a treat for that alone, but don’t worry, it goes far beyond that to flirt with operatic heights of drama and beauty, which is quite appropriate given its setting in Sicily. Considering the excellence of the acting and the apparent lightness of the story, I would say that Mike White, the creator of this series, is some kind of unsung genius. The guy seems to know no boundaries combined with one of the most stellar eyes for detail I’ve ever seen.
